It is announced that, on the occasion of the National Celebration of 28 October 1940, on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at 11:30 am, a Doxology Service will be held at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady in Sydney, presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and in the presence of a detachment of the Presidential Guard from Greece, the Consular Authorities, Greek War Veterans, the Presidents of Greek Associations and Brotherhoods, and others.
According to the programme of the Inter-Communities Council of New South Wales of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, a wreath-laying ceremony will follow at 11:45 am at the Cenotaph located in the courtyard of the Cathedral.
Finally, at 12 noon, a reception will be held in honour of the dignitaries and all members of the Greek community in attendance.
